October 6, 2025 — The South East Asian Institute of Technology (SEAIT), through its Research and Extension Office, held a coordination meeting with the officials and sector leaders of Barangay Loreto S. Tamayo, marking a significant step toward the proposed project of adopting the barangay as a partner community for its extension program.
The coordination meeting was attended by barangay officials headed by Hon. Charlton S. Tamayo, SEAIT personnel led by Dr. Lina Mondejar, Research Director, the JLT Integrated School Principal, a community health worker, and other community leaders.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the strategic planning session, which focused on how the institution could extend assistance and implement projects for the barangay in the areas of livelihood, education, and health through the use of SWOT Analysis.
The participants actively contributed their insights and recommendations on key development areas, which will serve as the foundation for future strategies. These include the initiation of sustainable stakeholder partnerships, collaborations, and the development of community-based projects.
In her message, Dr. Mondejar emphasized the institution’s vision of transforming Barangay JLT into a sustainable rural community. She underscored SEAIT’s holistic approach in supporting local communities and its continued commitment to nation-building through research and extension services.
The coordination meeting is expected to strengthen the groundwork for transforming Barangay JLT into a sustainable and empowered community within the next five years through collaborative efforts and strategic initiatives.
